The East tower is the biggest. Its base forms an oval which exceeds 10 meters (30 feet) in its largest diameter. It is equipped with hoardings on its outer side, intended to batter the bases of the walls.

The junction between the wall and the wooden tower is covered with shingles intended to prevent water infiltrations.

The West tower is smaller (its largest diameter hardly exceeds 8 meters). It is not hoarded but its first level receives a ballista which was fired through mantlets (wooden shutters).

Its roof is covered with freshly-cut animal skins to prevent fire.
